In 2012, the Albert City Threshermen and Collectors hosted the Minneapolis-Moline Collectors Club for their national summer show. We featured Twin City, Minneapolis, Moline Power Company and post-merger Minneapolis Moline, along with Avery Equipment.
The feature tractors were the Moline Jet Star and BigMo 400.
Look long enough into the horizon of this wheat field and you’ll see just the top of the new corncrib sitting on the show site. The corn crib was put up in the fall of 2011 to hold the ear corn that was shelled during the 2012 show. The wheat stand looked great, and was cut and bound the last part of July.
On Thursday, August 9th, there were two tractor rides that folks participated in. The first was in the morning, riding from Chuck Virgil's place in Sutherland, IA over to the Albert City Threshermen and Collectors Show grounds. This was for Minneapolis-Moline tractors only. Once at the show grounds, all riders had an opportunity to eat at the Threshermen Cafe before heading out again. The afternoon ride was for all tractor makes and models and included stops at the Albert City Museum complex, and in Marathon at the L, M & O Railroad Museum.
