Gathering of the Orange in 2023

The Gathering of the Orange will be held during the 2023 Show. Dates are August 11-12-13. All things related to Allis-Chalmers will be featured. In recognition of the 70th Anniversary of the WD-45, and the 50th Anniversary of the 7000-Series, those tractors will be highlighted.

A-C Tractor Drive

Ahead of the Gathering of the Orange at our show this summer, there will be an all A-C Tractor Drive. Nick Gabbels of Randolph, Nebraska is the contact person for this fun event. Anyone interested in participating should contact him at 402-337-0097 or 402-360-0871. The annual Threshermen's and Collectors Show is Aug. 11-12-13, 2023 and we are located near Albert City, Iowa. We found photos of some of the participants from the 2010 A-C Tractor Caravan.

Sweet Corn Feed & Greased Pig Contest

Make plans to join us on Friday, August 11th for the sweet corn feed at 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. All you can eat sweet corn with hamburgers and drinks available. Come for the sweet corn and stay for the greased pig contest that starts at 7 p.m. We will have four age groups for the greased pig contest: ages 5-8, ages 9-12, ages 13-17 (2-person team), and ages 18+ (2-person team). Please fill out a Registration Form and return it before the event. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for all age groups!

Cinnamon Roll & Pie Contest

Saturday morning is our Cinnamon Roll Contest! Dust off your recipe books, bake up your best cinnamon rolls, and bring at least 3 cinnamon rolls to the Main Lunch Stand by 9:00 AM for judging. Prizes this year are sponsored by United Bank of Iowa - $500 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place.

Sunday is our Bring Your Pie to Church contest! Bring your homemade double-crusted pie to the Main Lunch Stand by 9:00 AM for judging. Fareway is sponsoring the contest this year and will be providing $500, $50, and $25 in grocery cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Pies will be judged and the winner announced at the end of the Threshermen Church service.

Banquet set for GOTO

A Gathering of the Orange Banquet will be Friday, Aug. 11 at the Community Center in Marathon. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. with cash bar and dinner to follow at 6:30 pm. There will be a short program. Cost is $27 and reservations can be sent to Mavis Widlund, 60162-290^th Ave., Palmer, Iowa after April 15 and before August 1. Anyone with questions about the banquet can call Mavis at 712-358-0865 or 712-359-2454.

Room Blocks for GOTO

Room blocks have been made at the Pocahontas Inn in Pocahontas; Kings Pointe in Storm Lake and American Inn in Spencer. Remember to mention Gathering of the Orange if making reservations before July 26. Dry camping is available at the show site and no reservations are needed.

Merchandise for GOTO

The Gathering of the Orange group has shirts and hats available to purchase! The gray button down shirt is embroidered on both the front and back. There are sizes M-2XL available for $60 each. The orange t-shirt is also embroidered, and there are sizes S-2XL available for $20. There are also embroidered hats available for $20. 2023 Toy Collectible

This year's collectible toy is the Allis-Chalmers D-15 wide front with loader. This is the 9th year for this fundraiser. Tractors are $150 which includes shipping. If you pick up your toy at the show, you will be reimbursed your shipping of $20. Toys can be purchased in advance or at the show from the LeMars Toy Store.
